Cost: Standard: $100.00

Nia is Fun: it’s the type of low impact exercise you’ll want to do and feel good about it.
Nia is Unique: blending uplifting music with a fusion of the dance arts, martial arts and the healing arts, offering a creative fitness program that will fill you with joy.
Nia is Holistic: creating an inner body awareness allowing you to connect to your true self and moving to your own body's way.
Nia is Support: for every body and every age on their journey to well-being, including those who are recovering from an illness or injury.

Nia is a unique low impact body-mind fitness and lifestyle practice that has been active in the USA for 25 years and is now available world-wide.

It integrates concepts and techniques from the East and the West including: dance; martial arts and body integration techniques.

In a class the student will learn different routines performed to uplifting music. The format follows phases for warming up, cardiovascular and relaxation. The aim is to increase balance, stability, mobility and flexibility with an emphasis on joy, improving the students overall health. Nia empowers people to make their own movement choices by offering a flexible structure they can personally modify to suit individual needs. The blueprint of Nia is practical, experiential and focuses on internal guidance to change and develop.

Through purposeful and expressive movement Nia helps people to achieve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
The sessions are open to students of both gender and all ages. No dance experience is required and all levels of fitness are welcome.

Please seek medical clearance if you have not exercised for some time, or have health issues that may affect your ability to participate safely in an exercise program.

Tutor: Sabine Withers

For many years I had taught Jazz-Dance and Gymnastics to girls and young women and Aerobics to both men and women. Moving and dancing to music has always given me much joy. Later my professional career took me onto a different path and to other places. A few years ago while living in the Middle East with my family, on my search for fun and fitness, I found myself stepping into a different kind of class. The instructor invited us to express ourselves in our own unique way and to feel the sensation of joy, all of this to groovy moves and uplifting music. It was then that I rediscovered my passion for dance.
Whilst bringing up two children the wish to one day teach movement classes again remained and some time ago Nia crossed my path for a second time. So I took action. In 2008 I  became an inspired certified Nia instructor and look forward to sharing the Nia experience with all on their journey to well-being.
